Surgery

We perform surgery five days a week.

Dr. Buchholz's surgery days are Monday and Tuesday.

Dr. Krausman's surgery day is Wednesday.

Dr. Mulry's surgery days are Thursday and Friday.

Pre-surgical Instructions

On the evening before your pet's surgical procedure he must not be given food after 8:00 p.m.and no water after 12:00 p.m.

Diabetic Pre-surgical Instructions

If your pet is diabetic, on the evening before his procedure he must not be given food after 8:00 p.m. but please do not restrict water. Give him his regular insulin dose the evening before surgery, and give him only half his insulin dose on the morning of surgery. Water is ok in the morning, but no food!

When your pet is checked in we will check a blood sugar level and place him on an IV sugar drip. Blood sugar levels will be monitored throughout the day.

Abdominal Surgeries (including cystotomy,splenectomy,exploratory)

We are also equipt to perform advanced surgical procedures such as:

Endoscopy
Laparoscopy
Cystoscopy
Rhinoscopy
Ear Flushes

Please drop your pet off the morning of his procedure between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

You will be asked to sign in and provide phone numbers where you can be reached during the day. It is at this time that you will make decisions such as what level of pre-anesthetic testing you would like run, and if you would like your pet's surgery to be done with a laser.
